French artist, Thomas Mailaender, is getting weird with food.
Mailaender recently opened an exhibit, L’Union Fait la Farce, at the Centre d’Art La Cuisine in Nègrepelisse, France. The photographs, sculptures and installations show food in a strange, almost grotesque way, with as a toolbox filled with sausages and a toilet overflowing with French fries. Mailaender even allows viewers to take part in the exhibit with a clothing iron that grills yakitori. There is something about Mailaender’s exhibit that feels a little unsettling but we are all for pushing boundaries and he does just that.
